History

St. Malachy Academy, Pambegua, was conceived in 2010 through the visionary leadership of His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. George Jonathan Dodo, a passionate advocate for quality education and moral formation. Driven by a desire to leave a lasting legacy, he envisioned the establishment of a Catholic co-educational school with a strong emphasis on science and holistic development, aimed at making meaningful contributions to the educational advancement of the local community, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.

This vision was inspired by growing concerns over the declining standards of education, moral values, and spiritual guidance in many public schools across the state and the nation. In response, the Academy was founded to provide a high-quality alternative that combines academic excellence, discipline, and strong ethical values. The school was designed to serve not only children from the immediate community but also students drawn from across the state and the country.

Although the original plan was to commence at the primary school level, the increasing demand for a reputable post-primary institution within the community necessitated the inclusion of a secondary school section in the Academy’s foundational blueprint.

St. Malachy Academy was officially established on 15th September 2010, with academic activities commencing on 20th September 2010. At inception, the school already had nearly half of its required infrastructure and furnishings in place, ensuring a conducive and well-structured learning environment for its pioneer students.
