St. Malachy Academy came alive with excitement, colour and healthy competition as students participated in the school's annual Inter-House Games, an event designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and unity among students.
The event brought together students, teachers, parents and invited guests in a vibrant atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and school spirit. Students from the various houses competed in a wide range of sporting activities, demonstrating exceptional talent, determination and sportsmanship.
The Inter-House Games featured several events, including track and field competitions, relay races, football, tug of war, marching displays and other athletic contests that allowed students to showcase their abilities and teamwork.
Speaking during the event, the Director of St. Malachy Academy, Rev. Fr. Bako Zichiyang Patrick, emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of young people. He noted that sports help students build confidence, develop leadership skills, strengthen friendships and cultivate discipline, perseverance and respect for one another.
He commended the students for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to see every competition as an opportunity to learn valuable life lessons beyond winning trophies and medals.
The colourful march-past by the participating houses was one of the highlights of the event, drawing admiration from parents and invited guests. Students displayed remarkable coordination, creativity and unity, reflecting months of preparation and teamwork.
Parents and members of the school community applauded the efforts of the management, teachers and sports coordinators for organizing a successful and memorable event that encouraged both academic and physical development.
At the end of the competition, outstanding students and winning houses were recognized and rewarded for their excellent performances, while all participants were commended for their dedication, resilience and sportsmanship.
