St. Malachy Academy recorded another remarkable milestone in its journey of growth and development with the successful Commissioning Ceremony of a New Block of Classrooms and Twenty (20) Toilet Facilities in March 2025.
The historic event was graced by Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Bauna Tanko, who represented the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Most Rev. Dr. Habila T. Daboh, alongside clergy, school administrators, parents, benefactors, staff members, students, alumni and members of the host community.
The ceremony marked another significant achievement in the school's commitment to providing a conducive, safe and modern learning environment that promotes academic excellence and holistic development.
The programme commenced with prayers and the blessing of the newly completed facilities, seeking God's continued guidance and protection upon the school community and all who will benefit from the new structures.
Delivering the Bishop's message, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Bauna Tanko conveyed the goodwill and blessings of Most Rev. Dr. Habila T. Daboh, who commended the management of St. Malachy Academy for their visionary leadership and dedication to educational advancement.
He emphasized that investment in educational infrastructure is an investment in the future of society and encouraged all stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives that enhance teaching, learning and the overall well-being of students.
Speaking during the event, the Director of St. Malachy Academy, Rev. Fr. Bako Zichiyang Patrick, expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty and to all individuals, organizations and benefactors whose generosity and support made the project possible.
He noted that the newly commissioned classrooms and sanitation facilities would significantly improve the learning environment by reducing overcrowding, promoting hygiene and creating a more comfortable atmosphere for both students and teachers.
Rev. Fr. Bako Zichiyang Patrick reiterated the school's unwavering commitment to providing quality Catholic education that combines academic excellence, discipline, moral values and character formation.
The commissioning ceremony also featured cultural displays, musical presentations and performances by students, showcasing their talents and adding colour and excitement to the occasion.
Parents, invited guests and members of the community praised the continuous development taking place within the institution and described the new facilities as a major contribution to educational advancement in the area.
The official cutting of the ribbon and inspection of the facilities signified another important chapter in the transformation of St. Malachy Academy into a modern institution equipped to meet the educational needs of present and future generations.
As St. Malachy Academy continues to expand and improve its infrastructure, the school remains steadfast in its mission of forming academically excellent, morally upright and socially responsible leaders who will positively impact society.
